SWAP is a product that tracks tampon habits and reminds users when they need to swap in a new tampon. The goal of SWAP is to educate young women about simple habits that prevent Toxic Shock Syndrome. The platform creates an open dialogue about women's health and menstruation. The project was born out of my own paranoia: an exaggerated feeling that I'm going to get TSS whenever I'm on my period. I realized other women share this common fear. Rather than discount the feeling as silly, I decided to embrace it as a medium. While SWAP presents itself as time tracking tool, it's unabashed acceptance of the female body and its natural functions, effectively breaks the taboo of talking about menstruation.
